The gasoline filter generally has only one stage, installed between the gasoline tank and the gasoline pump or between the gasoline pump and the carburetor.  Because there are three precision parts in the diesel engine supply system, the cleanliness of diesel is higher, and the gelloid content of diesel is higher, in order to improve the filtration efficiency, diesel filter generally has two or more levels, divided into diesel coarse and fine filter, also known as oil-water separator and diesel fine filter.  Respectively between the diesel tank and oil pump, oil pump and fuel injection pump, some diesel engines are also provided with a precipitation cup, used to precipitate water and impurities in diesel.
